Applications are invited for the ESO Internship Program 2026 in Germany. The European Southern Observatory (ESO), one of the world’s leading intergovernmental astronomy organizations, has announced multiple internship opportunities at its headquarters in Garching, Germany.
The internship program is open to bachelor’s, master’s, PhD students, and recent graduates from science, engineering, astronomy, physics, data science, software engineering, and computer science backgrounds. Candidates from all nationalities are eligible to apply; however, preference may be given to applicants from ESO member states.
The ESO internship provides an excellent opportunity for students and graduates to work on real-world scientific and technical projects while gaining hands-on experience in an international and multicultural environment. Selected interns will work closely with top researchers, engineers, and experts while accessing advanced technologies and facilities.
The internships are generally offered for a duration of 3–6 months and are fully funded with financial support covering accommodation, airfare, and living expenses. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline.
